Just moved to Hua Hin and thinking about decorating your new home?
Here are some local shops to find what you need
Homepro Hua Hin
Homepro (located on the 2nd floor of market village) caters mainly to those who want better quality service and products, but not necessarily top of the line. Homepro have a fairly good variety of brands from recognised brands in the West like Samsung, Panasonic, Sony and LG and supply products for all around the house including bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms. They also have a solely electronic section called The Power that has all your home theater and entertainment needs. Homepro also sell paint brands like Dulux, Jotun, Berger and Nippon Paint and can mix colours to your preference or from colour charts and computerised paint colour matching. They also have a fairly decent assortment of light fittings and other home fittings that are worth having a look at to add final touches to your new home. Please be aware though, the staff at Homepro are not always hired by the company itself but from the product companies to try to sell particular brands. This being said though the staff can be very helpful and knowledgeable.
Thai Wat Sadu Cha Am
Located on the left side of Phetkasem Rd heading North, probably the largest shop in the Hua Hin and Cha Am area for building supplies, hardware and tools for do it yourself projects and professionals and other home fittings. Thai Wat Sadu could possibly be compared to Home Depot in the USA, Kingfisher in the UK and Bunnings in Australia and stock a wide range of brands at reasonable prices but be aware they do not have the best reputation for advice or after sales service, best to know what you are looking for and roughly what brands before going in here looking for advice. They have a large range of bricks and concrete and other home improvement and building products. If you are looking for industrial products or building supplies Thai Wat Sadu is probably your best bet in the area.
Index Living Mall Hua Hin
Located on the left of Phetkasem Rd heading south about 500 metres before the palace. Index Hua Hin are very similar to Ikea, they have similar minimalist style furniture that is not the best quality but not the worst either at fairly competitive prices and sometimes they have pretty good discounts in their sales. They sell their own brand of furniture under the Index name including office, bedroom, living room, and outdoor furniture and they also have decorations for the house like fake fruit and pot plants. Index also have some nice design ideas for you to get some inspiration for everything from living spaces to kids bedrooms.
Big Kiang Hua Hin
Quite possibly the Thai favourite for this type of shop in Hua Hin. Big Kiang is a large retail home appliance and furniture store selling electronics and electric appliances including Air conditioning, TV’s, washing machines, sofas, dining tables, cabinets, garden furniture. Usually they stock lower end quality but still at good value. They have a very good reputation for service at the shop, delivery and installation and are known to discount prices as well and the more you buy at one time the bigger the discount. Big Kiang is definitely a place worth checking out in Hua Hin for anything for the home you may need.
