Hua Hin Retirement and affordability

Recently, Hua Hin was ranked as the top destination in Asia and 7th in the world to retire comfortably and happily by Live and Invest Overseas enjoying the good life while still having as many of the benefits of living in The West. This ranking was primarily gauged by working out living expenses for the average retirees in US dollars which have had a huge surge recently and has given US expats a bit more spending money, but some of the other factors that may have been taken into consideration are the low crime rate compared with other cities in Thailand and Asia and the large expat community from different countries such as Sweden, Malaysia, New Zealand, Canada and France. Hua Hin also has fairly low pollution levels as heavy trucks and machinery are not easily able to enter the town and there is almost no manufacturing. Another factor that may been considered was the vast range of cuisine now available in this beachside town ranging from different regional Thai to French fine dining, from Russian to Malaysian.

Now, I am not saying that Hua Hin isn’t a great place to retire or even just to visit, but I wanted to take the opportunity to compare Hua Hin Retirement and affordability and the living costs for someone from somewhere else, maybe from Australia or Europe.

For bang for your buck it is definitely hard to go past Hua Hin!
